Rules and Info

Before reading keep in mind that this information may be modified before or after the contest begins. Please check back for any possible updates so that you can keep in line and follow the rules.

We are happy to have the first SEO Contest for the Academy which will begin at 12AM Central time on November 10th 2008. The rules are simple. Rank for the keyword given for either the advanced or the beginner competition, and on January 20th at 12AM central time the Contest will end. We will release a winner in a few days following after reviewing your site.

The winner of each contest will be based on who is ranking in the top spot for both contests in Google at This IP.

Below are the rules which may be added to based on user questions to clarify things.

1.Contest is for Affiliate Academy Members only. Someone may join the Academy at anytime to be involved in the contest, but must remain a member through the duration of the contest to stay qualified.

2.Both Contests Start November 10th 12AM and end January 20th at 12AM Central time.

3.There will be 2 different combination’s of keywords. The first will be for the advanced. The second will be more for beginners. Both groups must have a clear link on the page they are attempting to rank for the keywords of their competition. The link must say SEO Expert Competition, and link to the homepage of this website just as this link shows.

4.No blackhat methods are allowed. No link purchasing is allowed. You may use automated social bookmarking tools. Link purchasing would consist of buying a service to get links or paying for individuals to add links to their site for you. This would NOT include using article marketer, or having someone get links for you to link directories. Things you CAN use as much as you like would include sites like hubpages, blogger, wordpress, etc. You may NOT use automated software to mass produce sites to give yourself links. You may not use automated software to spin articles hundreds or even thousands of times. If it is seen that you are using these methods you can be eliminated from the competition.

5.You may NOT join either contest after January 10th.

6.You cannot use any of the contest keywords in your domain name. Subdomains and subdirectories however are allowed for keywords. You must use wordpress as the content management system of your site.

7.You will be required to purchase a new domain for this contest. No preowned domains. Domain name registration must clearly have been registered on or after November 7th.

8.You may only participate in one contest. If it is known that you are a teacher of Internet marketing and SEO or advanced in nature you will not be allowed to join the beginners competition. Be a trooper and prove what you teach. It will be at the discretion of the Affiliate Academy instructors who this is during signup. What this means is if you have been doing this for a while and know the ins and outs decently you better jump in the advanced. If others know you to be a person that has a wealth of information on SEO then you will need to be in the advanced. If you still have difficulties and consider yourself a beginner, then join the beginner competition. Anyone working with others as a team to win will be required to join the advanced competition.

    Just for you Will, the wizard responds…

    Generated blog content is popping up all over the place. How does a SEO contest counter that? The process can be as easy as this. This is a question about Blog Content Wizard that often comes up. Consider the content on your blog and make it the best it can be. This isn’t going to destroy your Blog Content Wizard experience by any means. Have you tried a minimalist approach? Are we not startled into astonishment by the blog content ideas that Blog Content Wizard gives us? Studies have shown that Blog Content Wizard helps one too much with blog content so it wouldn’t be fair.

    Now if I can just get that AI routine done quickly enough, minus that pesky ‘world domination’ subroutine….
